03-06-18 thus created this blog
All these while, my writings were posted on my facebook.
Today, there is a call for me to "blogify" them. I really wonder if there is this word.
The things of the world are changing that new words are being invented to describe new habits, new things just like the word "phubber" invented back then in 2012. Quoting verbatim from technopedia.com, it means "Phubbing is a term created by the combination of the words phone and snubbing. It refers to a person interacting with their phone (or other device) rather than interacting with a human being. The use of this, and other terms around mobile device use, showcases a growing issue with different kinds of technology, including the delicate balance of sharing time and attention when facing two very different interactions at the same time."
Today, at Jalan Imbi Church, we were having a Gospel Meeting cum Parent's Day celebration. The theme was "How Deep The Father's Love". Mr. Emcee was asking "what is LOVE?". And, that moment, it crossed my mind, "What is not Love?" and how is it like when there is No Love.
No Love means, No Hope.
Imagine the sufferings, pain, and hardship that we are going through and yet we endure it for that there is Hope. Hope brings Joy and Light. So, when I decided to create this blog, I decided this should be the Title.
Today during our Remembrance Service, a brethren shared a Gospel verse.
Mark 11 "Now when they drew near to Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples 2 and said to them, “Go into the village in front of you, and immediately as you enter it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat. Untie it and bring it. 3 If anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord has need of it and will send it back here immediately.’”"
And this crossed my thought. Why did Jesus say "If anyone says to you". Jesus, our God is ever supreme, ever knowing, and for a God that powerful, why is there an "If" in His statement?
When I try to comprehend this verse, this is in my mind.
God allow(s) us to have our own Choice - to be His subject and to submit to his will or to question his will and go our own way. And the essence of Choice Doctrine is Love. Many like to ask "Are We Pre-Programmed by God" that He decided every single event. I do not think so. God has subjected us to His Will, with the circumstances that He set for us, but we are still given the Freedom of Decision - and He let us do so because Love is Voluntary. When everything is pre-set, pre-destined, that is Not Love.
He can though, give up on us, allowing us to continue sinning and eventually heading towards an eternal doom or to pull us back into His arms each time when we drifted too far. For my case, I drifted for 10-years before he decided to say "alright, is time to come back" and again, He gave me the choice if I would come back to Him. This reminded me the parable of Prodigal Son in Luke 15.
I intend to "re-post" my writings from my FB into this Blog as a record of my writings.
God willing, You might be touched by God.
I am ending with another Parable from Luke Gospel.
Luke 13:
6 Then he told this parable: “A man had a fig tree growing in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it but did not find any. 7 So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, ‘For three years now I’ve been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven’t found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?’
8 “‘Sir,’ the man replied, ‘leave it alone for one more year, and I’ll dig around it and fertilize it. 9 If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down.’”
If we read King James Version - the word used was not "fertilize" but "dung it" and literally it means put shit on us. So, before we can bear fruits, we go through pressure (from digging) and lots of shits.
God bless.
