Our Future? The Wealth Gap is growing greater - that it is almost impossible for the ultra-rich and the ultra-poor to live in equal terms. This would result in greater stress to the mind - especially the society has been taught that success is measured based on "how much you made" when we see happiness does not correlate positively with wealth. Many are becoming Lovers of Money as they perceived that "Money" can create them a kind of status - where it is this status that can feed their desire. I have already noticed of uprising generations whom are: Self-centred - being considerate is becoming a skill to train onto them and no longer a value embedded since young. This is so noticeable when I observe the way they "speak or reply message". Risk-averse - a generation that does not have much living skills and does not have much entrepreneurial skills. Living in an artificial world that does not know what reality actually is and when they discovere

Lots of Money

I once told - the wealthiest man is not the one who owns the most, but to desire the least.. Do u agree?    Yesterday Mr. Sandy McEachern was giving us a sermon, and he preached on something that also touched on "material possessions" A good point to ponder really... the key takeaway from this part was that so many of us are so obsessed with material possessions, and we just love to indulge and to own more and more of these things. Be it, a good car, a good house, good clothing, good life and it goes on. We are telling ourselves to go for something BETTER. And each time we want it better, we work harder and most of us just never are satisfied and eventually - it has taken away the most precious thing of ourselves - Our TIME. Then it comes to a point that we realised - TIME is all gone and the real price we pay include we sacrificed our family members, we sacrificed building relationships with our loved ones, our friends and more importantly, with God. And does

ACCA P1, P3 to SBL - Syllabus Integration & Synchronisation

Image
Facing the reality - there will never be 100% pass-rate for ACCA Papers P1 & P3. There would be less fortunate students whom might have to attempt the new Strategic Business Leader. Having said so, your knowledge is not wasted as most of the knowledge acquired from ACCA P1 and P3 are being repeated into ACCA SBL. However, we are expecting really different skills & competencies in SBL. First, you will have to manage a giant-syllabus where you are expected to learn more and to know more before you can tackle this paper. Then, you have a judgmental 20-marks professional marks being awarded according to the way you argue your points, you present your points, you persuade your reader to buy your ideas - and YES: English is a pass-factor now. I am showing you 2 examples of how 2 different answers would demonstrate differently in terms of their professional skills:    Look at this two examples: Answer 1: Outsourcing is good because it is cheap and cost-effective. With less co

Tax Changes 2018 Budget - ACCA F6 (TX) and P6 (ATX) MYS

Image
We all know the pain in dealing tax subjects - the Updates and Changes. For our ACCA exam, Budget 2017 is valid up to Sep 2018 exam and Dec 2018 will be based on Budget 2018. Some of you might be interested to know the changes: (Take note: I only incorporated changes that are more relevant to your studies rather than the entire budget proposal) 1) GST to SST - This is perhaps the No 1 question many students want to know. How is ACCA going to react to our unique situation? We are still waiting for updates from ACCA but what I hear is, they are adamant that "Indirect Tax" must be in the syllabus and since we do not have the "New SST law", it is highly likely, they still need you to study the old GST Act - What?? and I know your reaction. Same here. 2) Some Key Changes to Personal Tax - (some are not significant and I would not elaborate much) Streamlining "Para 22 Schedule 6" to ensure consistency in the definition of Public Entertainer.  Reducti

Amazing Chinese Characters 惊人,奇妙,的中文

Image
Chinese Character First - I must confess, I don’t write Chinese. I barely able to recognise, perhaps, 100-200 Chinese words. However, I am thankful that I am able to speak Chinese and I am always amazed at the culture behind Chinese literature and I love the 4-character “chengyu” 成语 a lot. Chinese character also amazed us with their “permutations” - that is to pick and mix few characters and use them to form a new meaningful character. This word was taught by my brother during my teen - the word called “water pump” 水泵. I remembered he told me the word 泵 “beng” is illustrating the sound of a stone dropped into water and it creates the sound of “pom pom pom”. That is a very profound memory “深刻” of mine.. When we go deeper into the Chinese Character, we can see the unique feature of Chinese Characters. Unlike most languages, where a “set of letters” (like English with 26 alphabets), the Chinese character is formed based on STROKES. It began with characters (象形 xiàng xíng image sha

English in my ACCA studies?

Image
Many Malaysian students pursuing their ACCA studies often asked: "Do I need good English" for my ACCA studies?   While, like most Malaysians, I do not live in a family where English is the first language. It wasn't even second. All my family members do not speak English save for my sister - able to construct simple sentences. I understand the dilemma - do we need it to excel in our ACCA Professional exams?  This post might be of some help to you?  [Originally posted @ my FB on 22nd Feb 2017] English and my ACCA? How important is English? Well, it is not the most spoken language, but it is definitely the most widely used, global standard language. It is definitely the most important business communication skill. Imagine that you being a Malaysian working in a Swedish company dealing with a Japanese client where the work-site is located at Uruguay - and you are telling me that English is not important? Then what language are you going to use? Guys - the wor

New Dawn for Malaysia 09-05-2018

Malaysia has been under regime of "Barisan Nasional" government since its Independence Day in year 1957. With absolute powers of beyond 6 decades, it has been so corrupted and allegations and reports of news of how leaders becoming wicked, greedy and self centred have caused the citizens' anger to erupt. And, we have been through a long journey of at least 3 elections to see a change. In fact, in the previous GE-12th I was actually still quite BN-friendly but me too was brought along by the wind of change.  I must therefore, re-post various postings from my Facebook, again as a historical records of my journey as part of the change:  [Posted on 4-April-2018] As we are entering into the coming election, may we all pray for God's will be done. May all our Christians brothers and sisters may join in prayers for our nation. Keep praying for the Nation. Our Father in Heaven. You are Holy, and Your Name is Holy and that Your Holy Name would always be glorified and
